Bees really are amazing little creatures! Did you know that the foraging bees in a single colony can visit up to 50 million flowers in a day? Without bees, many of the plants that make up our environment would have a hard time reproducing. By deciding to become a beekeeper, you’re joining a community of people all over the globe who are stewards of our natural world that we all depend on.
We’re here to support you as you embark on this exciting journey!
In the next few lessons, we’ll show you things like the three different types of bee in a colony, what the basic components of a beehive are, how to decide where to locate your hive, how to get set up with a colony of bees in your hive, and we’ll run through the first things you need to do to look after them.
And along the way, you’ll pick up some really cool knowledge about bees and all the interesting things that they get up to.
